Your privacy is very important to us. We have therefore gone to great lengths to ensure the security of the information within this database.

The following processes are in place:


  • We do not share database information with non-whanau or organisations for profit (or otherwise) as commercial websites do.
  • We password protect the database by default. Users require individual login codes to access.
  • We protect the database within the server from professional "backdoor" hackers using the appropriate server permission/privacy settings.
  • We employ a stringent registration process and only allow access to whanau that are on the whakapapa.
  • We restrict registered users from viewing information of living individuals that they are not related to by blood (spouses are regarded as blood relatives on this site)
  • We reinforce the importance of privacy to whanau by way of our (User) Terms and Conditions.

If you would like your and your children's (<18yrs) personal information made private, we can do so at your request. This will however also preclude you from accessing the database.
You should be aware, however, that much of this information is already in the public domain and may be readily available to others using internet search engines (e.g., Google People Searches, BD&M public records, Profile apps, Birthday.com etc).
